Messiah in a Manger

Every year, I look forward to Christmas time! There is a certain joy in the air, an anticipation by all, and so much hustle and bustle; but I want to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas and the very meaning of life itself.

Without the manger, there would have been no cross. Jesus could have entered this world by descending from heaven without thousands of angels announcing His arrival, but He didn’t. The Savior of the world humbled himself, was born of a virgin and born in a manger in a stable.

Let’s go back to the fact that He was born of a virgin for a minute. I love Mary’s role in the gospel. A young girl, who was not yet married, had been told that she would carry Jesus and did so with such grace. Fast forward to the cross, nowhere in the Bible was it said that Mary tried to stop the crucifixion from happening. Most moms would have pitched a fit, so to speak, if someone was trying to kill their child, but Mary, she did not; she knew who Jesus was and she knew what had to happen. Do you know who Jesus is?

Jesus is the best Christmas gift that has ever been, is, and forever will be. A little baby boy born in a manger took on the sins of the world so that you and I could be forgiven of our sins, have a relationship with Him, and spend an eternity with Him in heaven. Not only during this Christmas season but throughout every day, I want to keep Jesus in the forefront of my mind.

From the manger to the cross, history was changed and so was my life. Merry CHRISTmas, Jesus is The Reason for all the seasons.
