Great is Thy Faithfullness

Not sure if He’s going to come through? Is He there? Does He even see you? He WILL come through. He IS there. He DOES see you.

I am currently reading through the book of Exodus and one of the biggest things that I am taking away from this book is the faithfulness of God. As I read through each chapter I see a new way that God was faithful to the Israelites and I see how he fulfilled each of His promises to them.

In Exodus 6:1, the Lord said to Moses, “Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.” Later on in verses 6 and 7 the Lord tells Moses that He will bring them out of slavery and the Israelites will be His people. Moses was completely dumbfounded; he could not understand why God would use someone like Him, but He trusted God to do what He said He would do.

Fast forward all the way to Exodus 12:31-32, “And he (Pharaoh) called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the Lord, as ye have said.  Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.” Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron that they and the Israelites were free from bondage, free from slavery! Praise God! The Lord is faithful! He fulfills His promises!

Need more proof?

While the Israelites were still under the hand of Pharaoh, God sent plagues among the land of Egypt, but God kept His people safe. Here are just a few of the instances:

  • God protected them from being swarmed with flies: Exodus 8:22
  • God protected all of their livestock from dying: Exodus 9:4
  • God protected their land from becoming completely dark: Exodus 10:23
  • God protected their firstborn males from death: Exodus 12:12-13

Next time you are doubting God, remember His faithfulness to the Israelites. Christian, you are His child and the Father loves His children. Just remember that He who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23) and all things work together for the good of those that love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).
