It is so easy to forget that Jesus knows; that He knows the outcome of our situations, that He knows how our lives are going to play out, that He knows the “why’s” behind each circumstance. He knows it ALL!
Recently, I faced a situation where a door was closed and God completely altered my plans. Worry and anxiety began to flood my heart as I began to wonder if my situation was going to work out. The fear of failure began to flood my soul as my future looked uncertain. As I was sitting reading my Bible, feeling my anxious heart beat in my chest, wondering how my situation was going to play out, I felt the Holy Spirit whisper to my heart, ” I know.” Immediately, I began to feel peace flood my soul. “Jesus knows how this is going to play out. I can have perfect peace because He knows. Nothing is uncertain to Him. Nothing has caught Him by surprise. He knows the plans and He will order your steps. Trust in Him.” If I had leaned into these facts at the start of this situation, I could have forfeited much anxiety. But, I’m still learning, Jesus is still teaching me, and I’m grateful He hasn’t given up on me. I’m thankful that we can have peace that passes all understanding, encourage ourselves in the Lord, like David did, and boldly pray to Him in our time of need, accessing the throne room where grace abounds (Phil. 4:6; 1 Sam. 30:6; Heb. 4:16).
It seems as if almost everyone is facing a tough situation; loss of loved ones, a bad diagnosis, job uncertainty, and the general weight of the state of our country. No matter what you’re facing today, He knows. He knows how your situation is going to play out. He knows the path you’re going to take. He knows the plans He has for you. Take heart, friends, He has overcome the world! You are not alone in your worries and fears, but I encourage you to run to and give them to the One who settled them at the cross! He knows!
