Today as I was listening to the radio, “Glorious God,” by Lauren Talley, came on. As I was singing along, I noticed how my attitude began to change. Worship truly does change your attitude. The song declares the glory of the Lord and how He deserves my praise! How can that not change my attitude?!
In such unprecedented times such as these, it is so important not to lose sight of the One who holds the world in His hands. We were created to worship and praise the Lord, no matter what season we, our country, or even our world is in.
A.W. Tozer once said,
“biblically defined purpose is that we might worship God and enjoy Him forever. Apart from that, man has no other purpose; and short of that, man wanders in a spiritual disorientation taking him further from finding his created purpose. God never does anything without a good purpose behind it. God is intelligent because intellect is an attribute of deity. This intellect is seen in every aspect of creation. Nothing in creation is without meaning, even if we do not see or understand the meaning at the time.”
Excerpt from “The Purpose of Man”
While these times are so uncertain, we can trust Jesus; for He alone is sovereign. When the Day of Pentecost occurred in Acts, we were granted the Holy Spirit, which grants us peace! If you’re saved, you can have peace because the Holy Spirit lives within you! Cling to that peace, friend! Exalt and lift up the name of Jesus! Praise changes everything! Our God is worthy, no matter what is going on in this world!
“Let every thing that that breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”
Psalm 150:6
“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.”
Philippians 4:4
In addition to praising the Lord, I want to encourage you to pray for our leaders during these times. Pray for President Trump and Vice President Pence, Congress, all Governors, local leaders, educational leaders, and all healthcare workers; pray that their decisions would reflect the heart and guidance of Christ, that God would give them the grace and wisdom to make the tough decisions, and that God would grant them good health. Pray for those who are out of work and are suffering financially.
Lord,
May we take heed to what you are trying to teach us during this unprecedented time. Bring revival to our country and may we fix our eyes on You and You alone. Help us to cherish this extra time with our families and more time to spend with You. May this make us more thankful for the things that we have; salvation that You granted us through the cross, our free country, our jobs, our schools, our leaders. Thank you that You are always good and worthy of all praise. Amen.
