This is an issue that has always been heavy on my heart and I feel led to write this blog on this “touchy” subject.
As most of you know, there has been a new abortion law passed in New York allowing later-term abortions and another of greater magnitude is being proposed in Virginia. Christians are outraged on this issue, but abortion is abortion no matter how old the unborn baby is. It breaks my heart to see that this is what it has taken to cause so many Christians to speak up against abortion. Our country is in the position it is in because Christians will not speak up and declare what God’s Word says.
All throughout God’s Word, it is made clear that life is sacred. Psalm 139: 14-15 says, ” I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.”
Fellow Christians, I urge you to speak up for these precious lives who cannot speak for themselves; we know we will face persecution, but I think Paul puts it best, “But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.” 1 Peter 4:13
